I’ve spilled liquid on my computer, phone, or tablet.
What can I do?
When you find yourself in this scenario of liquid on or in your device; rest assured not all is lost yet. There is a couple of steps to help increase your chances of bringing your device back to life.
1. Be safe: unplug the device from the wall.
2. Power the device off.
3. Try to absorb the liquid with a clothe of some kind the best you can. Do Not use the rice method.
4. Gravity is your friend. Prop the device in a way to allow gravity to help remove the liquid.
5. Place the device in a space where you can create a cool wind blown environment. You do not want to use a blow dryer or heat gun.
6. Let sit for at least 72 hours (the longer the better) before you try to power on.
If you are successful and the device appears to be working properly, I still recommend scheduling service for your device. The liquid can cause corrosion of the internal components.
