The kitchen is the heart of the home. Here's a simple system I have developed over many years of making things very complicated to learn the beauty and functionality of simplicity.
1-Kitchen pots for germinating seeds, root tops or bottoms, plant cuttings from the kitchen, seeds you are eager to start growing, etc.
2-Compost container- for biodegradable plant material to be taken back outside.
3-Seed Drying Rack. Seeds from any fruits or vegetables.
4-Seed Tin. Dry storage of seeds to be planted later. Don't forget to add goodies from the pantry like beans, peas, seasoning seeds, etc. I keep all the garden seeds mixed and sprinkle a handful in the flower bed every couple months.
If anyone has a similar system and would like to trade seeds to create more diversity I would be more than happy to share!
The kitchen is the heart of the home. An efficient kitchen makes life a little easier and can significantly reduce expenses.
A game changer for me was utilizing the Rubbermaid sandwich containers, these are the perfect size for a full meal like meat, potatoes, and veggies. I used to go shopping on Saturday night, so Sunday would be spent cooking and doing meal prep for the week. I'd put several tubs in the fridge and an equal amount if not more in the freezer.
