Mayor David Goins was honored to attend the “Ballin’ With the Cops” event this past weekend hosted by A Precious Organization and the YWCA! 🏀💙

As a retired police officer himself, Mayor Goins truly enjoyed spending time with the Alton Police Department and the children of our community while supporting such a positive and meaningful cause.

Today was a beautiful day in the City of Alton as we gathered to celebrate the dedication of the new Illinois State Historical Society historical marker honoring the legacy of The Hayner Public Library District at Jennie D. Hayner Park.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this special occasion possible. It was truly an honor to attend and witness another meaningful piece of Alton’s rich history being recognized and preserved for future generations.

Thank you to The Hayner Public Library District for hosting such a wonderful event filled with community spirit, fellowship, cookies, lemonade, and celebration on such a perfect morning.

Alton continues to shine because of organizations and citizens who remain committed to preserving our history while investing in our future.
