YVC Alpena

This is a sneak peak into what we're expecting for the first week of summer! Check out all the cool things our youth will be doing to get ready for a fun summer of service! These are not the only things we'll be doing each day, so check on our instagram (yvc_alpena) or page to see updates throughout the summer of all the stuff we're doing!

YVC of Alpena is excited to partner with Great Lakes Great Responsibility this summer in our initiative to pick up 4,000 pieces of garbage before the end of the summer! We'll be visiting different local parks, preserves, and walking areas to help with the total Great Lakes Great Responsibility initiative of making sure 1 million pieces of garbage do not end up in our Great Lakes. Follow along as we post updates throughout the summer!

Our youth were able to contribute to Wolverine State Credit Union's 5th annual Summer of Color run that happened this past weekend. Youth went to go decorate the sidewalk that our runners and walkers were able to spot on their trip around downtown Alpena! There has been an increase in participants this year, and our youth who helped decorate put down motivational statements for over 200 people to see this weekend.

A year-round fundraiser opportunity that the Boys & Girls Club provides is a year-round can drive. At any point in the year that the club is open, you can drop off a donation of cans that our youth will help recycle in order to fund fun initiatives, incentives, and field trips. It also helps our youth understand the importance of what a difference one can or bottle can make on our organization.
