This bathroom functions as our “primary” bath (no en-suite here) and is also our main floor bath for visitors AND any overnight guests, so it really needed a facelift. We were originally planning on full gut renovation, but demo-ing the bathtub felt like a lot so we decided to focus on some cheaper DIY improvements for now

Here are the highlights:

- We had a budget of about $2,000 to spend on this project, and we stayed right on track!

- Beau closed in a large alcove that at some point housed a small washer and dryer in order to make a large linen closet. There were no storage closets when we moved in to this house, and every time we add storage it’s cause for celebration!

- Beau also added a vent fan, some can lights, and swapped out the vanity light. If you’ve ever had a full bath without a vent fan, you will know what a big improvement this is!

- New vanity from Lowe’s with actual storage.

- Paint everywhere! The wall color was kind of a happy accident with a paint-match gone wrong, but the trim matches the rest of the downstairs. It’s Smoky Blue by Sherwin Williams

- Because we eventually plan to replace the tub/shower, we wanted more of a temporary solution on the floors. These CLJ Floorpops look so good and were so much easier to install than any other flooring options.

- I’ll be honest, we got all the big things done and it still didn’t feel quite right, but once we brought in a couple of colorful art pieces (including my Janet Hill prints that I absolutely love) it really came together!
