We're putting this page together so that we can keep everyone updated with the endurance racing as well as promote the people/businesses that help us along the way! The team consists of three riders: Ryan Carson, Ron Jenkins, and Dan Hawkins (hence the R2 - D portion of the team name). The other two crew members are the all-important crew c

Race 1 - Saturday: qualified last on time (no surprises there) and started at the back of the grid, but I’ve never been a great qualifier. I just don’t have the aggression or adrenaline to go 10/10ths from the jump.. certainly something I’m going to have to work on.

As many of my racer friends are aware, I very much have a “green flag syndrome” come race time where everything just clicks and that adrenaline/aggression hits when I need to step it up. I’ve always been pretty good at starts and made up probably 5-6 places by T1. My STANDING start was the third fastest lap I had run all weekend 😂 Anyhow, ended up consistently running ~2s faster a lap (very consistent 1:57.7s) than I qualified at and finished in the top 20!! Had some good battles with faster bikes, but couldn’t bring it home in front of them with them finishing less than a second ahead. But holy s**t was I tired after.. not sure I’ve ridden that hard in recent memory for anything?

All in all finishing position aside and the PITA of yesterday, super satisfied with how I rode and how the day ended up. One major thing to note, I am FAR too out of shape to do this level of riding for 11 laps 😂 by the end of the race I was absolutely spent, forearms burning, body position getting lazy just trying to make it home but not lose any time.

I want to give a HUGE thanks to the crew: Jenna, Sam, and my dad - who have helped this weekend doable and worth while. It’s nice to have a good result for them considering the effort they’ve put in this weekend.

And I want to give an enormous thanks to Barnes Bros. Motorcycles & Off-Road for consistent support through the years with anything I need to race and Karns Performance for building an endurance motor that I’ve rung to the hilt in sprint races on since it’s my only working bike lol.

We’ve got a Race 2 today at 1pm, so let’s see if I can put together another great start, run a little faster time, and improve on the riding!

Believe it or not, today was the first inch I’ve turned on any track this year.. got a couple of big events coming up so it’s been nice for things to come together enough to get acclimated with riding again!
