UPDATE 5:51 p.m.: All work is complete and the scene has been cleared of all crews.

UPDATE 4:18 p.m.: Both Northbound lanes are now open, but AT&T crews are still onsite resetting poles. Motorists may still experience traffic delays in this area.

UPDATE 11:03 a.m.: Southbound lanes are resuming normal traffic. Northbound lanes will be down to one lane as crews continue to reset a broken pole. Northbound travelers going towards Knoxville should expect delays due to the lane closure.

UPDATE 9:47 a.m.: Crews on-site are now setting two new poles to replace the ones broken in the crash. There are still power lines across the roadway, and the closure remains at this time.

PLEASE BE AWARE:

Alcoa Highway at Airbase Road is completely shut down. Both Northbound and Southbound lanes of the highway are closed due to a three-vehicle motor crash with electric lines blocking the roadway. Please find alternate routes as Alcoa Electric works on getting lines off the highway. There is no timeframe for this closure. APD will provide updates as more information becomes available.
