Kindred spirits Gizmo (16 yrs) and Carly (6 mos) comfort each other at foster Linda’s as they move on from their former lives.
Gizmo, who is partially blind, had to leave the only home he knew when his owner could no longer care for him. Carly’s siblings picked on her relentlessly. She was completely shut down when we pulled her and brought her to Linda’s. The progress made each day warms our hearts.
Thank you foster Linda Bane, trainer Shane Hawkins, and volunteers Lorens Cruze and Virginia Kron for saving these 2 little lives.

Katie's Story
Meet Katie!
A 2 year old Cattle Dog Mix approximately 27 pounds, Katie is the perfect medium-sized companion with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. Katie can be a little cautious when meeting new people, dogs, or unfamiliar situations. She likes to take a moment to observe and make sure everything is safe before jumping in. Once she realizes theres nothing to worry about, her true personality shines. She transforms into a happy, affectionate, and playful girl who loves being part of the fun.
One of Katies favorite things is playing with other dogs. After proper introductions, she enjoys canine companionship and playtime, and she would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help her continue building confidence and keep her entertained.
In addition to her sweet personality, Katie comes with excellent manners. She is housetrained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Katie is a Big No to cats, she prefers to watch them from afar. Give her a few minutes to settle in, and you will discover a loyal, loving companion who is eager to share her playful side.
