"An Introduction to Philosophy: A Christian Guide to the Things that Really Matter"
by Steven B. Sherman, Richard A. Holland, Gary S. Osmundsen, and Peter J. Rasor

Introduction
An Introduction to Philosophy is a project that began with a lunch meeting discussion on how to better teach philosophy to undergraduate students (p. xvii). The authors say, “We saw a need for an accessible introduction that would be helpful to those students who had never heard of these ideas before, and we also saw a need for an introduction that was more friendly to the Christian worldview than were those we had used previously in our classes. We believe this book fills that need” (p. xvii). The content and presentation of the book achieve what the authors sought—an accessible, philosophically serious introduction hospitable to a Christian worldview.

The book is divided into eight parts: part 1 is introduction to philosophy (chs. 1–5), part 2 is logic, reasoning, and arguments (chs. 6–9), part 3 is epistemology (chs. 10–12), part 4 is metaphysics (chs. 13–15), part 5 is philosophy and science (chs. 16–17), part 6 is philosophy of religion and philosophical theology (chs. 18–19), part 7 is ethics (chs. 20–24), and part 8 is the meaning of life (chs. 25–36).
