There are 106 companies within New Mexico comprised of 15 Manufacturers, 61 Installers/Developers, and 30 Others. According to a recent article on , "[A 2018] Clean Jobs America report found nearly 3.3 million Americans working in clean energy – outnumbering fossil fuel workers by 3-to-1."

Dr. Sang Eon Han is conducting research on periodic nanostructures that are inspired by biological structures. Dr. Han plans to enhance the sunlight absorption of solar cells by creating random structures to mimc certain biological structures that are found in nature. These random structures within his solar cells will reflect sunlight more efficiently than current solar cells.
