This week, Hercules Publishing is absolutely honored to be presenting the work of over 80 Deadhead Poet contributors to the Grateful Dead Scholars Caucus at the Southwest Popular/American Culture Association's 47th Annual Conference, here in Albuquerque!
I'll be sharing a bit about the concept/vision behind this project, as well as a few great stories and experiences gleaned from the publishing process and everything explored through poetic homage to the music, culture, history, and legacy of the Dead.
Anthology contributor and local music and poetry scenester Don McIver will present on the Dead's enduring influence on creative counterculture as explored by local and regional tribute bands, festival vendors, Indie publishers, clothing designers/upcyclers, and so many others, all loosely united and always cross-pollinating in the spirit of the continuing, Universal groove.
Publishing Assistant Tracey Zee is flying in from Austin for the week, and she'll be sharing about the reception this collection got, on the lot in Vegas last Spring during Dead & Company's last run at Sphere...it was so heartwarming to have 'heads of all ages and backgrounds' share their own poetry and experiences. Things are just getting started.
