Recreational vehicles (RVs) tend to be classified into two broad categories. Motor homes are self-contained motorized vehicles that include living space. Towables are non-motorized trailers that can be towed behind a car, truck, or van.

Class C motor homes are sometimes called “mini” RVs. Why? They offer many of the same conveniences found in full-sized Class A motor homes, but on a more compact scale. Their smaller size also makes them easier to drive, maneuver and store.

Are you planning to take your RV to a lot of state parks and national parks? If so, a 40-foot RV might not be your best bet. Many park system campgrounds were constructed decades ago and were not built with today’s monster RVs in mind.
