Experiments in Cinema accepts submissions thru Film Freeway August 1 - November 1, 2025! Please note that in spite of loosing our federal funding due to the orange turd in the White House, we found a way to reduce our submission fees this year as a way of giving back to a community that has supported us for 20 years! Also note that this fall both Senses of Cinema and Millennium Film Journal will have articles about our fest.

Apparently the University of New Mexico’s now bloated film department has several new faculty searches in progress. After teaching in the film department at UNM for 25 years and experiencing first hand the seismic shift of its pedagogical reach - remember the chair of the department unceremoniously evicted Basement films seeing no cultural value in our 33years of supporting “undependent media” - I would argue that UNMs film department is now a sinking ship that the wise scholar will avoid at all costs.
