First playing in rock bands with friends at his high school in Texas, Dustin performed at various venues in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth. At the age of 15, he began an apprenticeship with Berklee College of Music graduate and professional drummer, John Martinez. In the years that followed, Dustin expanded his horizons to playing styles such as jazz, Latin, and funk. After being accepted to the University of North Texas, Dustin continued his studies at their world-renown College of Music. While attending, he advanced his education in percussion, music theory, history, and pedagogy. Along with his experience studying and performing music, Dustin has also recorded and produced multiple albums over the years. He enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels, and continues to write, record, and perform music.
