Long before modern medicalization, Black and Indigenous communities relied on our traditional birth workers. We honor this shared legacy of ancestral knowledge and healing, and we are committed to continue advocating for birth equity and reclaiming traditional wellness practices.

We know that birthing people and their families reflect the beautiful and powerful diversity that sustains all ecosystems and life. At CWI, we support our diverse Indigenous communities to renew cultural birth, and the fundamental Indigenous human right to reproductive health, dignity, and justice. We proudly stand with and support our 2SLGBTQIA+ relatives, no matter how anyone identifies or how a family is built. We celebrate Pride month by sustaining care, safety, and cultural knowledge to all those who come to our doors.

Our vision is to restore the sovereignty of global Indigenous wellness by honoring our human right to equitable reproductive health.
We strive to center indigenous midwifery and community health with the return to gender equality and cultural birth practices. Our work is centered around providing care to those who have historically been separated from their cultural and ancestral reproductive, birthing, and wellness practices and knowledge.
