A Native American warrior served in the Vietnam War.
Not just bravely…
But extraordinarily.
He was wounded multiple times.
Kept fighting.
Never gave up.
His name was Sergeant Billy Walks About.
Born into the Oglala Lakota Sioux tribe, he became one of the most decorated Native American soldiers in Vietnam.
He received:
🏅 Distinguished Service Cross
⭐ Five Silver Stars
🎖️ Ten Bronze Stars
💜 Six Purple Hearts
For many people…
These are just medals.
But for others…
They represent sacrifice.
Courage.
And never leaving your fellow soldiers behind.
Some people believe Native warriors are not talked about enough in history.
Others think military history already gets enough attention.
Now imagine…
Someone risked everything for their country…
But most people never heard their name.
Would that feel fair?
So here’s the question 👇
Should Native American military heroes be taught more in schools and history?
