For generations, Indigenous People in the United States and across the globe have lived with the enduring impacts of colonization. Policies of removal and assimilation separated families, disrupted relationships to land, language and culture, and attempted to erase Indigenous ways of knowing and being. These harms are still present today.

SPIRIT (Supporting Play and Intergenerational Relationships with Indigenous Traditions) is our response to this disempowerment. Through:

🀝 Partnering with Indigenous led organizations in the U.S., Aotearoa, British Columbia and Australia
🌱 Supporting a network of Indigenous home visitors
πŸ› Creating community designed play spaces reflective of the unique experiences of Indigenous children
🀲🏼 Upholding the values (connection, generational knowledge, solidarity, land) Indigenous people have always believed in

The Center is helping to reclaim the health and well-being of Indigenous communities worldwide. The power of our collective strengthens when we know we are not alone.
