Once upon a time (circa 2015), I watched “Mile... Mile & a Half," a documentary about five friends who left their daily lives behind to hike California's historic John Muir Trail (JMT), a 211-mile stretch from Yosemite to Mt. Whitney. It was really freaking cool and inspiring, so I added "Complete the JMT" to my life bucket list.

However...I had no real plan or idea how I could make it a possibility. I had a steady 9 to 5 engineer careering, a 401K, a dog, and only 3 weeks of vacation a year. There was no realistic way I could skip out on work and life for such a big adventure. And so, it sat on the list.

Fast forward to 2020/2021. I met a girl, quit my job, became an entrepreneur, and out of nowhere, an old buddy of mine called me...he had snagged a permit for the JMT and had an open spot. F*CK YEAH!

17 days, 47K feet of elevation gain, 6 mountain passes, 35 candy bars, and 0 showers later…I checked it off the list.

Life is short. Do cool sh*t.

Holy cow, what a year! Here are the 2022 highlights:

• Got engaged and married
• Adopted a puppy
• Bought a house
• Paid off a vehicle
• Explored 8 states
• Visited 2 countries
• Travelled 191 days
• Filmed 26 elopements/weddings
• Completed 3 non-elopement video projects
• Co-hosted 2 workshops
• Skied 20 days on 9 mountains

Pumped to go big and dig deep in 2023!!!
