Spring Haven Stables

foundation for ALL horse sports and horse activities! Our program includes an introduction to a wide range of english and western horse sports including dressage, obstacle challenge, jumping, trail and more! We teach riding and training techniques that are similar to those of Sally Swift, Clinton Anderson, Classical Dressage and many other successful and proven programs. Tricia has been training and riding for over 20 years, and has been teaching for over 15 years. She has worked under a wide variety of skilled horsemen/women, and continues to seek further growth with her Instructor Mary McGuire Smith, an accomplished dressage rider and trainer. Tricia graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors in Animal Science and a focus on Equine Science. There she competed in hunter jumper and western pleasure with the MTSU Riding Team, was active in the Horsemans Association, and studied training, riding, pasture and soil management, breeding and reproduction, and more! She has been running an Equine Obstacle Sport Competition called the Alabama Obstacle Challenge Series for 14 years. Over the years shas branched out to learn about a variety of sports from western pleasure, obstacles, jumping, dressage, and most recently mounted archery! Tricia continues to offer limited spots for outside training horses and the occasional horse for sale, but primarily focuses on her boarding and lesson program. Training services and horse leasing programs are always available to Spring Haven boarders and riders! Spring Haven Stables looks forward to growing with all of our students and helping them reach their goals, whether that be horse ownership, trail riding, competiton, or riding around your back yard!!
