PA Midstate Rescue Summit –
What a Weekend
We had an incredible time at the first-ever PA Midstate Rescue Summit, hosted by Moshannon Valley EMS Public Safety Institute—a sold-out event with over 350 attendees. Huge thank you to their team for putting together a top-notch conference right out of the gate.
CTR delivered two programs over the weekend with about 40 students total, and the Small Team Rescue Clinic quickly became a highlight.
Mother Nature had other plans…
We spent much of the day training outside in steady rain, but the crews adapted, stayed engaged, and kept working. That’s exactly what this type of training is about—solving problems with the conditions you actually get, not the ones you wish you had.
We were able to keep operations moving thanks to:
Our overland 270 awning on the CTR truck
The crew at Port Matilda Fire Department, who showed up with their rescue truck, a great awning setup, and a large pop-up tent that made a huge difference
Much appreciated.
The Small Team Clinic focused on:
Doing more with less
Building systems from what’s on your harness
Rapid deployment with limited personnel
Keeping operations simple, efficient, and effective
Everything is soaked and we’ve got a few days of drying gear and resetting equipment ahead—but it was absolutely worth it.
Thank you to all the students who showed up ready to work.
If your team is looking to build similar capabilities, CTR offers custom small team and efficiency-based rescue programs.

CTR recently delivered a one-day Industrial Rescue Boat Operator course for personnel at Carver Companies' Port of Coeymans Marine Terminal.
The course combined classroom discussion with hands-on practical training, covering vessel familiarization, launching and recovery procedures, safe boat handling, docking operations, emergency response considerations, and operator responsibilities in an active industrial marine environment.
Practical, site-specific training helps responders build the confidence and proficiency needed to operate safely and effectively on the water.
Thank you to Carver Companies and the Port of Coeymans Marine Terminal for the opportunity to train with your team. We appreciate your commitment to preparing personnel for the unique challenges of industrial waterfront operations.
