Controlled Environment Testing Association was established Fall 1992. It was developed to promote quality assurance in the industry through the exchange and dissemination of information on certification issues. Controlled Environments include cleanrooms, laminar flow devices, sterile ovens, tunnels, dryers, biological safety cabinets, fume hoods, containment suites, and other similar environments that require precision testing and certification.

A strong relationship between a sterile compounding pharmacy and its certification provider can make all the difference. This was an underlying theme at the 2026 Annual Conference.
Certification is not just a once-a-year visit. It is an ongoing partnership built on communication, preparation, and a shared commitment to patient safety.
When pharmacies and certification providers work together, they are better equipped to identify issues early, understand requirements, and keep controlled environments performing as intended.
