this poem is from my first book, ‘The Surrender Theory,’ available wherever you get your poetry :-) I’d write it a little differently now, but the beauty of being an author with published work is that I get to look back & see exactly how 19 year old me envisioned a poem (without the oversight of 28 year old me).

also, poets assemble!!!! tomorrow I’ll be posting my prompts!!! who out there is participating this year!? as always, I am excited & also full of mild anxiety, LOL.

this poem is from my newest poetry collection, ‘Burning the Ghost Light.’ I like reading it out loud, so if you ever see me perform live there’s a decent chance that you’ll get to hear this one. I have some readings coming up in Albany & Cleveland—more details to come :)
