What is an emergency fund?🤔
🎯An emergency fund is money you set aside for life's unexpected expenses, like car repairs, hospital visits and even job loss.

👩‍🏫Preparation is key! Financial literacy is not just for ADULTS, our children NEED this information as well.

It may come off as difficult at first but with a little time and patience, they will get the hang of it as will YOU.

Here are a few tips to get them started:

1. Role play with children about buying and selling. This will help them understand how money is tool to be exchanged and traded for something that they may think is valuable.

2. Teach children to recognize the difference between their needs and wants. They are basically unclear of what their needs and wants are, so this will help them understand better.

3. THIS IS MY FAVORITE! Ask children to save their money. A little bit goes a long way, explain to them that they don't have to spend the entire $20 dollars but maybe just 12 or 13 of it and put back the rest for something else they may want later on.

4. Encourage children to earn extra money by helping you the parents. Just a little extra incentive to get those brains going, trust they will find ALL types of ways to help if money is involved.

5. Teach them to make financial budget plans. This is another great tip, setting up a budget to get the things they want will fall right into the type of life they have in mind for themselves. it is also a great way for them to start making short term and long-term goals for themselves.

Parenting is hard, but manageable. Also, we can get through this together as we set them up for a brighter clearer future day to day.
