Piled up papers on your counter? Not sure what to keep or where to keep it? Here are a few tips to get organized! (it will help to have some filing folders handy)

📎 Tackle a small amount at a time, this way you can start and FINISH

📎 Sort the papers into categories: recycle, file, keepsake

📎 Take the recycle pile away first to eliminate the clutter in front of you

📎 Separate the filing pile into categories and put into file folders **keep in mind most bills, statements, etc. can be accessed online!**

📎 Pro-Tip!! Keep the file folders handy - in an area close to where you sort your mail/papers. This way you can easily put the papers away, and not just move them to another area of your home. I keep mine in my kitchen cabinet, right next to the tissues and paper towels. If you have a home office and space for a filing bin, bring your papers to your office and sort/file there. Make sure you can start and finish and not just relocate the piles 😉 Swipe to see photos.

Clearing a cluttered surface can help to clear your mind! 🤯

When you have cluttered surfaces, it’s a constant reminder of what you need to put away…..and where to put it….and it doesn’t have a place…..so it doesn’t get done…..and now it’s on your running ‘To Do’ list and you’re reminded of it every time you see it. 😮‍💨. That’s a lot to carry around.

Start small so you can complete the project and feel the effects of a decluttered surface.

We also labeled her drawers so everyone knows where things go (I forgot to take before photos of all of the drawers).
