Browsers' Bookstore

Before this building was Browsers’ Bookstore, it lived a life as a pizza parlor named Shakey’s Pizza. These are some of the original signs from the parlor!?

As far as I understand, after it was Shakey’s it was the First Round Tavern, which I’ve heard stories of drunks being carted by hand-truck home and drunks falling into our neighbors’ backyard. Etc etc.

Then! At some point the building became Albany Book Company, owned by Carl. 20 some odd years ago Scott .g.insta bought it and turned it into Vol. 2 of Browsers’ Bookstore. I’m sure I’ll be corrected on all of this but it’s the gist anyway.

Y’all know Jake, I’m sure. One of the most endearing people I’ve ever come to know and shaping up to be a great bookseller too.

He’ll be at the shop all weekend for our Anniversary Sale.

Boys and girls, fish and flies, we’re going to have a booth next weekend at the NW Fly Tyer and Fly Fishing Expo at the Linn County Fair Grounds 3/13-14 (next weekend) 9:00 am — 5:00 pm!!!

I’ll be splitting a booth with he’s an author and guide and will be exhibiting everything Tenkara (Japanese Fly Fishing) and I will, naturally, be selling these boxes of awesome books.
