The Akron chapter of the AAUP has been an advocate for faculty on the campus of The University of Akron for many years. On March 12, 2003 faculty voted overwhelmingly in favor of making the chapter their sole collective bargaining representative. OCTOBER 18: NO KINGS!
Join the AAUP and other allied organizations across the nation for a day of peaceful protest as we come together to make clear: America has no kings, and the power belongs to the people!
We encourage all AAUP members and concerned citizens to join the NO KINGS protest on Saturday, October 18. Actions are organized locally, and you can find details about an event near you here: https://www.nokings.org/
This day of action is an opportunity to unite with organizations and unions across sectors in a collective refusal of Trump’s authoritarianism. Together, by taking to the streets in peaceful protest, it becomes possible to impede the onslaught on our institutions and to offer alternative, positive visions of the future of higher education and our society.
