Lone Star Fraternity

On this Christmas Day, the Alumni Board would like to wish every brother and their family, a Merry Christmas and a productive and healthy New Year. We do not believe there is another organization anywhere that shares a bond as strong as the brothers of Lone Star. On this Christmas day and as we move into 2026, we would like to ask every brother include our Brother Bill Dickey in their thoughts and prayers every day. Brother Bill pledged Lone Star in the great class of 1971, and has been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Bill has touched many lives as a fellow brother, teacher in Akron Public Schools, the wrestling coach at his alma mater North High School and through his devotion to his church. Bill's the consummate fighter and he will fight this dreaded disease with everything he has. We, the brothers of Lone Star need to give everything we have and surround Bill with strength, positivity and brotherhood as he fights to beat this dreaded disease! On November 18th, brother Greg Patterson passed away unexpectedly. Greg (Pat-Man) was a great brother, for which all that knew him can attest, for all those that did not know Greg...you missed the opportunity of enjoying a great time with a unique character.
