Hello! Wanted to know if anyone may be willing to donate edible plants to the aviary! 🌱 They would need to be confirmed herbicide & pesticide free, but it would be such a huge help!

Not even asking for farm produce - just looking for common "weeds" that people might be picking and throwing away anyhow. Our birds absolutely love dandelions, edible yard "weeds" like purple dead nettle, violets, clover, etc. and even things like bittercress, knotweed, dock, and chickweed. ☘️🌾🌼πŸͺ» This time of year especially, they even use them to decorate their nests because they are considered so desirable! πŸͺΊ

And anything we don't use gets dried and stored to be able to serve them year round. If you have anything at all that you wouldn't mind sharing with our birds, we would be so grateful! πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ¦…πŸ•ŠοΈ

Please just shoot me a message! Thank you! ❀️

[ADOPTED, thank you!]

Just a reminder that Erebus is still available for adoption! This handsome guy came here with his brother at the end of last year. They had been rescued from an auction in poor health, but have since recovered and begun to thrive. Erebus' brother ended up falling in love with one of our permanent residents and will be staying here, but Erebus still needs a forever home.

We are not certain of his s*x but feel decently confident that he is male just from his behavior and interactions with the other boys. We are also not certain of age - the original rescuer was told they hatched in 2025 but this seems inaccurate to us. He is not the tamest bird, so we would rather he not be an only bird. He has the best personality, and is learning people aren't so bad - he has begun to "talk" to me a lot, and loves to wait for me on top of the aviary door for me to bring fresh food in the mornings (see pic 3!)

If you are interested in bringing Erebus into your flock, please reach out!! We are really hoping to get this boy into his forever home soon.
