Today we celebrate the tremendous history made on June 19th, 1865.  The Emancipation Proclamation had been signed two years earlier, and on this day in Galveston, Texas, full effect took place.  Community organizer and activist, Ben Haith, designed a flag to commemorate this historic day using the lone star from the Texas flag, a starburst around it to signify a new beginning and red, white and blue from the American flag. While we remain open for services, especially today, we recognize and honor this significant moment and movement. #juneteenth #aba #equalityforall #oahu #BalancedABA
