Imagine 10 kids are sharing a pizza.
The pizza is supposed to be cut fairly so everybody gets an equal slice.

But one group grabs the knife and says:
“We’re going to cut this pizza so OUR friends get the biggest pieces and your friends get the smallest.”

That’s what is happening with redistricting.

Instead of cutting pizza, they’re cutting maps.

The map decides:
• who votes together
• who has political power
• and who will likely win elections

In Tennessee, lawmakers just changed the voting maps in Memphis. They split up Black communities into different districts to weaken their voting power.

This is called “cracking.”

Before:
🟫🟫🟫🟫🟫 = strong voting power together

After:
🟫⬜⬜ | 🟫⬜⬜ | 🟫⬜⬜

Now the community’s voice is divided into smaller pieces.

And Tennessee is not the only state.

Similar fights are happening in:
• Texas
• Louisiana
• Alabama
• South Carolina
• Florida

This matters because these maps affect:
• who gets elected
• where resources go
• who gets heard
• and whether communities actually have representation

Some people keep saying “stay out of politics,” but generations before us fought and even died for voting rights and representation.

Silence is agreement.

Please pay attention to what’s happening.

The past is not something to play with.
That’s why Paul the Apostle said, “one thing I do—forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward…”
The past will try to keep you in a place of infancy and immaturity.
It uses nostalgia as a weapon against your purpose.
It’s one of the wiles of the enemy.
But hear me clearly—
the past is impotent.
It cannot produce fruit.
It cannot give life.
It only creates stagnation in your spirit.
You are a new creation.
You are not obligated to an old season.
Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
