Don't miss Nick Riggins, Matt Jenkins and me on WRUS Feedback this Wednesday, 9 am. They will be talking about their friendship, their rivalry, and their new CD. Some of the songs on the CD will be played that morning. Then everyone is invited down to "The Country" on 28th Avenue North in Nashville on April 1st to party down with Nick and the Harddogs. I am also attaching a bio about the two of these guys.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Nick Riggins and The Hard Dogs to perform free concert at Adairville Strawberry Festival. Band features reunited Logan County boyhood friends
Nick Riggins and Matt Jenkins
Nashville, TN March 15, 2016 - They met as teens in Logan County talent shows and FFA. They played in a successful rock band in the 1980s, and now Nick Riggins and Matt Jenkins are making music again in the outlaw country band, Nick Riggins and The Hard Dogs.
Riggins grew up on Riggins Road, a sixth generation Adairville to***co and vegetable farmer and son of Bud Riggins and long-time Adairville High School teacher Lois Riggins Ezelle, who now is the executive director at the Tennessee State Museum.
Matt Jenkins was raised in Auburn16 miles down US-68 from Riggins on a farm where his family raised Simmental cows. His father is actor Ken Jenkins, best known for his role as Dr Kelso on TV’s Scrubs and his mother is the artist Joan Patchen.
Nick and Matt first met as teens in 1976 while competing in a talent show at the old Adairville High school Auditorium. Riggins was singing and Jenkins was playing banjo in a duet with his brother, Daniel on fiddle. “I didn’t like them at all”, says Riggins with a laugh, “Who are those these little… jerks from Auburn?”
The boys kept running into each other at competitions and were both active in local FFA chapters. Nick and Matt joined forces as band mates, with Nick on vocals, Matt on drums, and Bob Kommersmith on bass guitar. Their group, ADONIS was a leading force in Nashville’s rock scene throughout the 1980s.
Jenkins moved to New York City and lived and played drums in LA, Detroit, and Chicago. Riggins has been recording and performing his music with some of the region’s top players. Two years ago Nick entered the world of TV starring in the Logan County-filmed CMT To***co Wars with his friends Scott Gainous and Mark Law, among other locals.
Matt returned to Nashville in 2014 and he and Nick reunited with Bob Kommersmith, a seasoned session and touring bass player to rekindle the musical magic they shared in the 1980s. The three are joined by rhythm guitarist Hunter Nash and lead guitarist TJ Larkin who complete The Hard Dogs.
Nicks latest album Farmed and Dangerous on AGR Records features the single, Guitars, Girls and Whiskey. The video was filmed during a live concert at Nashville’s Springwater Supper Club, featuring a rowdy crowd of Logan County longtime fans and friends.
Nick Riggins and The Hard Dogs will bring their signature brand of outlaw country with a free concert at the Adairville Strawberry Festival on Saturday, May 21st, 2016. They will also be performing at The Country Nashville on April 1, 2016 at 7:00.
