WindFall Farms

We're getting to the fine tuning part of culling down for summer and for fall breeding, at least for the older rabbits. I like everything that's left at least in some aspect. But now we get to see whether I have 5 of functionally the same rabbit (a back up is good, but my program is small) or nice animals that just aren't going to fit with what I have, or whatever.

These three are all related. Left and center share a sire, rights sire was a half sibling and left and rights mothers are daughters of center (from different sires, but father and son lol) so understandably they're fairly similar in a lot of ways. Left simply doesn't hold up to the other two and I don't actually need 3 similar broken does. When I really think about it I love center and right despite their imperfections but left...I loved her mother and she's not her mom.

Looking at the rear view, left has a very much narrower loin, and her proportion of base width to loin is even more off. Still have lots of work to do, but there is progress. Left will be culled, too many other small potential issues.

Windfalls Blue Gnu

This guy just gets nicer every time I pull him out. I really planned to cull him because I didn't actually "need" another Brindled buck, and I don't love his lower rufus opal color but he keeps impressing me.

Hes going to be a big guy, as a young kit he reminded me more of a French Lop baby with his giant feet and huge chunky self (he looked even bigger as his mom was fostering Himi babies that don't have the growth rate of my main herd, yet). He's pictured at ~13 weeks.

Windfalls Pampas Cat is the only one that I think will move forward to the next round of growing out from the Firefly x Leadwort litter. She's a Brindled Opal. Still not in love, but she's the best compliment for the Brindled buck, and the least problematic of her littermates. Decent balance, decent width, decent bone.

Couple cute Silver Marten bucks thatll grow. Bit bummed she only gave me boys...and that I can't smush these together.

Right buck has the fur and depth of color I need. But I like the body better on the left. We'll see if either develop better than their sire.
