My initial foray into buttercream painting has produced a charming outcome.

This year, I opted to bake myself a cake, which is a rare occurrence. I chose to make a Red Velvet cake with ermine frosting, which is my favorite type of cake and reminds me of the ones my mother used to make for me (minus the gluten).

Some beautiful simplistic cakes headed out to welcome 2 sweet baby cousins into our world. The Strawberry cake is gluten free and filled with strawberry preserves and iced with vanilla buttercream. The blueberry is a Lemon Blueberry cake filled with Blueberry preserves and iced with lemon buttercream.
