As we approach the nation’s 250th birthday, we stop on Memorial Day to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It is a time for solemn reflection — to remember those who never came home, and to hold space for the weight of their sacrifice. Today, as we spend time with loved ones, we reflect on the lives lost and the freedoms we hold because of them.
Wicky Ralph was a decorated veteran, having served in the United States Army Expeditionary Forces in France as a Private in World War I. Our mini-golf course and ice cream shop serve as a living tribute to Wicky Ralph who, along with Grammy Rose and a very special rescue dog named Sammie, are the inspiration behind our very special campus tucked away in the beautiful woods of Southern Maine.
Our campus is open Memorial Day, and we will move through the day with reflection and deep respect. Every scoop, every smile, and every dog saved is made possible because of the freedoms they gave all for.
May we live in a way that honors their sacrifice.

A summer at Wicky Ralph’s means so much more 🍦⛳️🐾 A long but important caption behind why we do what we do:
Every scoop, swing, and pup cup served helps support the rescue dogs right here on our campus. Our guest dogs can enjoy Frosty Paws treats from our on campus Ice Cream shop while our resident pups head down for whipped cream, tail wags, and the chance to meet and interact with so many new people along the way!
This all helps our dogs, giving them the opportunity to experience so much more than a typical shelter environment. From hearing laughter and cheers when people score hole-in-one’s on our mini golf course, to meeting families making fun summer memories, our dogs are also exploring new sights, smells, and routines. Every little interaction, no matter how small, helps them continue learning trust, confidence, and what life as a beloved family dog can look like.
We know just how lucky we are to be able to offer this kind of environment for them and every visit of yours to Wicky Ralph’s helps make it possible. Every scoop, swing, smile, and summer memory directly supports our mission of giving dogs the second chances they deserve 🐾
