A Northwestern Energy employee sighted a burnt pole and with the rain today may have caused a power outage for most of the town. Instead a NWE crew installed a new pole with new more modern equipment. It took less than 1 1/2 hour and only a few homes and businesses were without power. These fellows showed teamwork at its finest as they performed their high wire work.

An enduring winter-into-May turned next into a sodden spring which created a green lush summer. So prevailing was the rainy season it pretty much curtailed the gardening season. Beans, peas, tomatoes — nearly everything above ground lacked sun. Some people bemoaned the creamed peas and potatoes their mommas made, but farmers were happy with extraordinary hay crops that times with sunny days so it could be harvested.
