Dear Abingdon High School Families,

We are excited to celebrate the Class of 2026 this evening, and graduation will proceed as planned at 8:00 p.m.

Although lightning is not currently in the forecast, we want everyone to be aware of our safety procedures should weather conditions change. If lightning is seen in the area during the ceremony, all spectators will be asked to return to their vehicles, and graduates will report to the gymnasium during the waiting period. The ceremony will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to provide a safe and memorable celebration for our graduates and their families.

We are also monitoring the weather situation closely. If weather conditions require us to reschedule graduation, a decision will be made Friday morning and communicated to families as soon as possible.
