Self-care is more than bubble baths and spa days. Although those are amazing.
There are many different ways we care for ourselves, and sometimes the kind of self-care we need most isn’t the most obvious.
Different types of self-care can include:
• Physical – rest, movement, nourishing your body
• Emotional – expressing feelings, talking with someone you trust
• Mental – taking breaks, setting boundaries, learning something new
• Social – spending time with people who support and energize you
• Spiritual – connecting to purpose, values, or practices that bring meaning
Self-care looks different for everyone and can change from day to day. Sometimes it’s quiet rest, sometimes it’s connection, and sometimes it’s simply giving yourself permission to slow down.
Which type of self-care do you need most today?

Today is International Women's Day, so let's celebrate the impact women have in our communities and in the lives of others.
Today we’re also celebrating Becky Kuch on her birthday. Becky’s work supporting individuals, couples, and first responders reflects the compassion, resilience, and leadership that today represents.
We’re grateful for the dedication she brings to The Healing Practice and the difference she makes every day.
Please join us in wishing Becky a happy birthday! 🎉🎂

National I Want You to Be Happy Day is a good reminder that you don’t have to do life alone. At The Healing Practice, we believe happiness grows when people feel understood, supported, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
Drop us a comment on what makes you happy - big or small!

We often remind clients that coping skills only work when they’re practiced—and that applies to us, too. Our clinicians at The Healing Practice spend time together in yoga, modeling healthy coping and nervous system regulation we encourage every day. Caring for ourselves helps us care better for others.

Professional presentations are one way The Healing Practice stays connected to the larger community of care. This past Saturday, Becky Kuch presented "The Courage to Coach" to the SD Volleyball Coaches Association and Dr. Amanda Reed presented "Demystifying Traumatic Stress Effects and Treatment" to the District IV SD Emergency Medical Services Association.
Opportunities like this remind us how powerful shared learning can be. We are so thankful for the opportunity and the dialogue it created.
Congratulations Ashley and Michelle!! Thank you to everyone who took part. Continue to follow us on FB and IG as we do love to do giveaways!!!

Today is International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day, a day when people affected by su***de loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope.
Losing someone to su***de is a grief that carries layers—questions without answers, memories that land heavy, and moments that feel too big to hold alone. If you are someone walking that path, your heart matters. Your story matters. And you don’t have to carry it in silence.
Today, we honor:
• The loved ones we’ve lost
• The survivors learning to live in the “after”
• The courage it takes to grieve
• The strength it takes to reach out
If this day brings up emotions, please be gentle with yourself. Connection helps us heal, and support is available.
If you’re struggling, or if someone you love is struggling, you’re not alone.
📞 988 is available 24/7.
Holding space for all who are remembering, grieving, and healing today.
