Gregg-Hamilton House
Mary Frances Garth-Gregg, widow of fallen Confederate General John Gregg, purchased this home close to his final resting place and lived the rest of her life here. Dr. Charles Granville Hamilton, minister, state legislator, poet and author, wrote the majority of his poems and prose at the home. The home was used safehouse for slaves on the Underground Railroad prior to the Civil War. A cell in the basement of the home was used to hold Union prisoners during the Civil War.

CNN just named it one of America's most beautiful places, and honestly, no surprise. 🌿
The Natchez Trace stretches 444 miles through Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, winding past Civil War battlefields, Native American history, shimmering lakes, and the birthplace of Elvis. From Nashville's country roots to the Delta blues, this drive is as much a soundtrack as it is a road trip. CNN Travel
