• It runs a Bursary Scheme which supports disadvantaged children from the Lango sub-region, who would have otherwise failed to continue with their studies, to access education. Through this scheme, 29 students have so far benefited from the LDF Bursary scheme between the years 2003 and 2011 Some of the beneficiaries have completed university education and are now gainfully employed.
• Members of LDF (mentors) conduct mentoring programmes for all their Bursary Scheme beneficiaries (mentees). This is done through regular school visitations. In some instances, especially for orphaned ones, the mentees have been assimilated into families of their mentors.
• Regular School Visits are organised in which seminars are held for students and teachers of schools in the Lango sub-region. Resource persons for such seminars are mainly LDF members supported by well wishers with expertise and knowledge in specific areas. Topics covered include: career guidance, personal hygiene and health, tips for examinations, goal-setting, healthy relationships vs dangerous relationships, stumbling blocks to success and how to avoid them.
• LDF conducts fund-raising activities to generate income for the Bursary Scheme.
