On Monday morning a major earthquake hit southern Türkiye and northern Syria. Over 5,000 people have lost their lives and 7,300 people are injured. We expect these numbers to rise as the true scale of the devastation becomes clear.

In Syria, this catastrophic disaster has destroyed homes and vital infrastructure - in a region where millions of people are already vulnerable from 12 years of devastating conflict.
