Unfold Community Initiative

Our day 1 of the mentorship program conducted by SRHR Alliance Uganda for Civil Society Organizations including Unfold Community Initiative (CSOs) working in adolescent health has been filled with learning and reflection on strategies of advancing SRHR by the founders, executive directors of over 25 civil society and community based organizations.

And yes back to school time, we should bare in mind that promoting menstrual health is an important step towards safeguarding the dignity, bodily integrity and overall life opportunities of women and girls in the world.

Since the schools are opening in Uganda, we took an initiative to share some of the challenges girls face at school in the aspect of gender and how to overcome them. We also shared some of the facts and tips on keeping safe in school. Here learners participants shared their thoughts about violence and what it means to be safe in schools.

As we look forward to celebrating the Inernational Women's day. We took time to reflect on the endless interventions carried out in bid to rewriting the story and changing the status quo through mindset change for all.
Alot has been achieved and the fight is still on till when we achieve an equal and justice world.
