What you didn't know about HIGH BLOOD SUGAR! Three things will shock you. It can be reversed. High blood sugar and even diabetes can be reversed. This can be done through calorie restriction, intermittent fasting, exercise, and sometimes medications given by a clinician.
It affects pregnancy negatively. Unintended pregnancy with poor glycemic control at the time of conception increases the chance of adverse pregnancy outcomes, including stillbirth, congenital abnormalities, and perinatal mortality.
Skinny people can get diabetes. Lipodystrophy syndromes are conditions that cause abnormal fat loss. So, carrying too much or insufficient fat tissue in your body can be associated with insulin resistance. There are other risk factors for diabetes, including genetics, fat distribution, high cholesterol, sedentary lifestyle, poor eating habits, and more. Therefore, you could be slim but have high blood sugar.
Eat fruits, discard juice. Fruit sugar concentrated in juice is bad for diabetics. In one study, day-long plasma triglycerides in healthy men were 32% greater while they consumed a high-fructose diet than while they consumed a high-glucose diet. High fructose intake has been associated with an increased risk of gout in men and an increased risk of kidney stones.
Your waistline can indicate insulin resistance. A waistline over 40 inches in men and over 35 inches in women could indicate insulin resistance, or if you have a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.8 or higher.
Poverty increases diabetes type 2 incidence. A study done in 2016 found that diabetes is higher in rural areas. Today, it is known that out of 400 million people with diabetes worldwide, over 300 million live in developing countries. This could be because the poor eat highly refined, processed foods that are affordable.

Paracetamol - a common pain reliever, but are you using it safely? 🤕
5 Essential Things to Know Before Taking Paracetamol
1️⃣ Age Restriction: Never give paracetamol to children under 3 months old. Their liver enzymes are still developing, and the medication can cause liver damage and toxicity.
2️⃣ Dosage Limit: Adults, do not exceed 4g of paracetamol in one go. Taking more than the recommended dose can lead to severe liver damage.
3️⃣ Hidden in Other Medications: Paracetamol is often combined with other medications, such as flu syrups like Toffplus and Piritex. Always check the labeling to avoid accidental overdose.
4️⃣ Long-term Use Risks: Taking paracetamol for extended periods (more than 15 days) can lead to rebound headaches. Be cautious and consult your doctor if you experience this.
5️⃣ Different Brand Names: Paracetamol goes by various names, including Panadol and Acetaminophen. Always check the labels to ensure you're not taking multiple products containing paracetamol.
