Today, the Diocese of North West Ankole, led by Bishop Amos Magezi, launched a campaign to profile coffee farmers in Western and South Western Uganda. This initiative aims to help farmers conform to the new EUDR deforestation regulation set to take effect on December 31, 2024. The EUDR is crucial for promoting sustainable sourcing practices and protecting our forests, ensuring that European markets only receive products that do not contribute to deforestation.

Key components of this initiative include:

* Land Use Change: Verification that coffee is grown on land that hasn’t caused deforestation or degradation.

* Biodiversity Protection: Ensuring that farming practices do not harm local wildlife or biodiversity.

* Increased Income: With verified EUDR compliance, farmers can access new markets and potentially earn higher prices for their sustainably sourced coffee, leading to increased income and economic stability.

Inputi LTD is proud to provide the traceability technology that will empower these farmers to access the European market.
