Orone Foundation
As Orone Foundation today we celebrated the girl child day. In our activities today at Gogonya secondary school and Apopong seed Secondary School, we made girls aware of their rights to reach their full potential—while also recognizing all of the barriers that stand in their way.
Gender inequality has life-long consequences for girls and sets them back in the community.
Girls are considered to be more vulnerable than boys, as they are more likely to be denied access to education and more likely to marry early. Girls in pallisa district are more affected by pads poverty. More girls miss 5 days a month without going to school or risk using old rags to be able to continue with education.
These girls have bigger dreams, but the gap between aspirations and opportunities is bigger for adolescent girls, so Orone Foundation works to give every girl a chance to choose her path and today we provided sanitary pads, geometry sets and success cards to senior four candidates.
In the stopagirl campaign we equipe girls to become positive changemakers in their communities.
