He is a Hero, pride and a legend in Gambella who preserve the dignity of our Region as well as the Country as a whole. He protected Gambella from Murle not for Gambella people to be harm.

Gambella politicians have to differentiate the personal case with that of an individual with party. Metekel: in a Serious Crisis!
In a place called Bekuji, a kebele in Bulen district, Metekel zone of Benishangul Gumuz, organised and targeted fight against light skinned communities (largely, Shinasha ethnic groups) has claimed the lives of hundreds, displaced thousands and caused massive destruction to properties on the 23rd of December 2020, starting from 5:00 am. As per information from local sources and eyewitnesses, the death toll can raise up to 300 people including children, women and other vulnerable groups who are entirely innocent civilians. The mass killing was extremely horrible.
According to local sources, the perpetrators are well armed. Still the fight is going on and security forces are not there to de-escalate the conflict and safe lives. Those who are displaced are in an acute need of humanitarian support to save lives, particularly children and mothers are in a precarious situation. The conflict and human rights violations in Metekel is becoming a serious concern that both local and international communities should condemn and respond to sooner than later.
Thus, we call upon local and international communities and human rights actors to respond to the crisis through availing humanitarian assistance to save the remaining lives; and make accountable the propagators. Sources add that this is not the first, but the worst.
