Human-wildlife conflict is a main threat to African lions. African lions used to be spread across most of the continent, but now are only found in sub-Saharan Africa. Their conservation status is Vulnerable with estimated 23,000-39000 mature individuals left in the wild.

With an estimated population of 40,000-50,000 left in the wild, the elephants is classified as endangered. And it is critical to conserve both African and Asian elephants because they play such a vital role in the ecosystems as well as contributing towards tourism.

The Blue Winged Goose qualifies as Vulnerable it has a small population which is declining due to the drainage and degradation of its highland wetland habitat, and also threat posed by hunting.
