The Federation of Lesotho Rugby (FLR) has convened a high-level strategic planning session from 1 to 3 May 2026 at the Blue Mountain Inn (BMI) in Teyateyaneng.

The three-day workshop focuses on finalising the FLR Strategic Plan 2026 and allocating policy and duty responsibilities for board members, marking a key step in strengthening governance, sustainability, and long-term growth for rugby in Lesotho.

Established in 2012 as Lesotho’s national governing body for rugby union, the FLR has grown from grassroots beginnings in a landlocked, rugby-novice nation into a fully fledged member of World Rugby (achieved November 2024) and Rugby Africa.

Recent milestones include:A historic first official win as a full World Rugby member (37–12 against Eswatini in the 2025 BOLESWA Tri-Nations Cup).
Strong showings in regional sevens tournaments, including gold and silver medals for women’s and men’s teams at the 2024 Khan’sicala Rugby 7s Festival.

The Lesotho Rugby Academy (LRA) reaching thousands of children - nearly half girls - through school programmes that combine rugby skills with life skills education on HIV prevention, nutrition, and gender equality.

President Fetang Selialia and the executive committee have consistently emphasised rugby’s role as a vehicle for national unity, talent development, and social impact.
