In Uganda, access to reproductive health services is still largely determined by geography, with hard-to-reach communities facing the highest barriers and the weakest system presence.
Delivering care in these settings exposes a critical gap: last-mile service delivery remains under-resourced, logistically complex, and heavily dependent on outreach models that are not consistently financed at scale. Watch Video: https://youtu.be/d7dyI4TB8RI?si=7T9ezPKHeIjIkATx

We participated in the Quarter 1 partners’ meeting convened by the Coalition to Stop Maternal Mortality due to Unsafe Abortion (CSMMUA), bringing together partners working to advance broader Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Uganda.

The meeting provided a platform to reflect on the coalition’s 2026 priorities, align partners under different thematic areas, and strategize advocacy engagements around the Supreme Court Constitutional Appeal No. 1 of 2026 (Petition 10 Judgment).

Partners also contributed insights and experiences to support the documentation of best practices in Reproductive Rights advocacy and SRHR programming led by CEHURD Uganda under the Pamoja Project.

We remain committed to promoting access to safe, quality reproductive health services, strengthen advocacy, and reduce preventable maternal deaths caused by unsafe abortion.
