Political appointments are one of the tools used by the NRM regime to advance its POVERTY BY DESIGN strategy on the people of West Nile, even though so many analysts have warned the regime that their strategy is one of the largest implemented on a region in Uganda and has caused catastrophic damage to the people. And according to the analysts, this can lead to a situation with no return a point where the region's productive capacity, social cohesion, and human potential are so thoroughly dismantled that recovery becomes impossible.

The 2026 Museveni appointment list where, again, the highest decision‑making body of Cabinet ministers has completely ignored the sons and daughters of West Nile has reaffirmed the regime's commitment to the continuation of the POVERTY BY DESIGN strategy beyond 2026.

By excluding West Nile's own people from the cabinet ministerial post that allocates resources and shapes policy, the regime ensures that the region remains trapped in deliberate underdevelopment.

This systematic exclusion, despite decades of warnings from analysts, proves that the strategy is not an accident of governance but a calculated, long-term design one whose catastrophic trajectory now points toward an irreversible rupture for the people of West Nile.
