On July 14, river cleanup on kayaks was held in Kyiv, Hydropark. Sense-Maker Hub participated in the event organization and management.

More than 50 participants took part in the river cleanup, and the number of applications exceeded 250 people, which shows that Kyiv residents are becoming increasingly eco-conscious.

In Hydropark, we organized a real garbage hunt - we collected 74 huge packages! There were some interesting finds, such as old used tires, a giant carpet, hundreds of bottles and bags…

The most active ploggers received wonderful branded hammocks! Each participant tasted a delicious ice cream from "Belaya Byaroza™", and we collected the packaging, cut it to pieces to reuse it as a secondary raw material for sewing eco-poufs at Kharkiv Zero Waste!

This cleanup is a part of the big national project #плогімозбярозою. This is a series of aquaplogging events that take place every Sunday in different cities of Ukraine. We offer active and conscious citizens a great activity that benefits the environment.

The project is implemented in partnership with "Belaya Byaroza™" with the educational program ECOconsciousness of Dnieper and Kharkiv Zero Waste.

Take a look at our photos from the river cleanup in Kyiv and feel our positive vibe!

Today, we are going to clean the Dnieper River in Kyiv on kayaks-maniacs! 🤘♻ And on 6 July eco-enthusiasts already cleaned the river in Dnipro - have a look at how amazing it was! 🤩

ECO-MANIAC STUDIO BEGINS COLLABORATION WITH SOCIAL PROTECTION PROJECTS

Eco-Maniac Studio begins cooperation with social protection projects in SKVO Space. The first urban ecospace kindly allows for holding non-profit events aimed at achieving social well-being. The purpose of the cooperation is to help vulnerable groups of Ukrainians that need urgent support.

Проект "Голос Жінки Має Силу" ("A Woman's Voice Has Power") was the first project that we held in SKVO Space. It aims to restore peace and dialogue for internally displaced women (the women who left the occupied regions of Ukraine). It is supported by the following organizations:
☑ Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt)
☑ Human Rights Foundation
☑ Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (Germany’s oldest intermediary organization for international cultural relations)

The first two-day training, “Women in Leadership,” launched on 23 June 2020. It highlighted the most common stereotypes women face in Ukrainian society. The participants examined the cases of women’s leadership in Ukraine and the world, used storytelling elements to create success stories, found new strategies to overcome gender stereotypes by using gamification, and developed their own social projects.

“The Fundamentals of Social Blogging” was the second training that launched on 25 June 2020 and also lasted for two days. The participants learned how to write notes on socially sensitive topics using advanced copywriting and storytelling techniques. Now they know how to draw public attention to sensitive topics correctly and how to resolve important issues through blogging on social networks and on specialized online platforms. Moreover, the participants shot a creative anti-harassment video.

I am very glad to acknowledge that the positive atmosphere of the urban ecospace inspired the participants and presenters so that they got new ideas and remarkable results. Indeed, the most innovative thoughts and creative solutions come in nature’s lap. I’d like to thank everyone for refusing from plastic and using cardboard and reusable cups for hot drinks. Additionally, thanks for the responsible trash sorting and social distancing during the event.

We currently invite new social projects to collaborate with Eco-Maniac Studio and hold their events in SKVO Space on weekdays from 10 to 18. If you want to participate, don’t hesitate to send a message. It's time to act!
